Are you a skilled machinist with a passion for precision engineering?
We’re looking for a CNC Setter/Operator & Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team based at Pyropress Ltd in Plymouth.
About the Role
As a key member of our machine shop, you’ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC and manual machines—including lathes, mills, and drill presses—to produce high-quality components to exact specifications. You’ll work closely with the Machine Shop Team Lead to ensure safety, quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC lathes and machining centres.
- Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
- Inspect and ensure the quality of manufactured components.
- Follow Health & Safety policies and company quality management systems.
- Communicate effectively across departments and support other teams when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in manufacturing and machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of FANUC programming (preferred).
- Computer literate (basic data input).
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.

- Attention to detail and good housekeeping.
- Practical mechanical skills and a proactive attitude.

We offer a basic salary of £29,342 per annum and a working week of 4 ½ days (38.25 hours per week).
