REPORTS TO:Assembly Team Leader
LOCATION:Pyropress Limited, Plympton, Plymouth
JOB PURPOSE
As a Product Assembler, you will build electro-mechanical devices to the expected levels of safety, quality, consistency, and efficiency. This will be achieved using assembly skills and following documented procedures and processes.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all responsibilities are performed to a high standard of attention to detail and cleanliness within the timescales required.
- Use good judgment to ensure all parts used are of the correct quality and are fitted correctly.
- Support the team leader to achieve team and Company objectives within the four main areas of focus – Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Assemble and test products to a high standard in all build sections using work instructions and drawings.
- Inspect components and assemblies using variable measuring equipment and gauges, recording results.
- Document control of measurement records and certification related to works orders.
- Packing products for dispatch on completion of assembly and test.
- Liaise with the team leader on any issues that will affect current requirements and outputs.
- Encourage effective communication across all departments and levels of staff.
- Maintain a good knowledge of the product range.
- Work flexibly and help other departments as required.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including health and safety and quality assurance.
- Carry out other reasonable duties requested by The Company.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in the manufacturing industry with proven mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
- A desire to make a positive contribution to the Company by maintaining and improving quality standards.
- The ability to work with minimum supervision and high standards of cleanliness and quality.
- Ability to interpret wiring and assembly drawings.
- Practical, evaluation and analysis skills.
- A working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Communication and instruction skills.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office or similar).
