Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Business Development Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for driving sales via existing clients and distributor relationships whilst also developing market opportunities to grow the business with new customers and channel partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop new business across a broader range of markets, business segments and territories; expand and develop our channel partners, constantly evaluating their value through standardised KPIs.
• Identify and systematically target new accounts across new and existing markets, segments and territories. This will involve regular visits and presentations at sales meetings.
• Implement established plans and strategies to expand the customer base and contribute to the definition of new products.
• Assist with distributor questions and product/service queries.
• Become skilled in offering detailed assessment of client application requirements, to identify solutions and prepare commercial offers.
• Customer account management, including distributors.
• Maintain customer and channel partner databases, producing a robust forecast and input into Monthly Reports.
• Assist our channel partners in gaining approved registered vendor status.
• Support the internal sales team in providing a professional and excellent level of customer service with existing and new clients.
• Completion of quotations and work with the internal commercial team through the sales process.
• Provide effective feedback regarding position in the market, competitor information, opportunities and threats and recommendations for action.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven relevant experience in a technical customer facing role.
• Demonstrable experience of developing relationships with potential customers and distributors
• Strong technical and commercial acumen with demonstrable results of making a significant impact to market growth.
• A team player who will focus on building the brand value within the customer network.
• Strong organisational skills to ensure customer requirements are responded to in a timely manner.
• Experience in developing and presenting professional proposals/solutions, focusing on the clients’ requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude.
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing reports and documents
• Strong mathematical skills with the ability to analyse data and perform market, margin and pricing related calculations
Desirable Qualifications:
• Previous experience of working in a technical product direct sales role.
• Technical qualifications and /or experience in a process control related industry.
• Experience of working in environments with stringent regulatory requirements such as ATEX.
Why Join Us: We offer a full-time role working 37 hours across 4.5 days (we finish at 12.00pm on Friday!). The salary for this role is ÂŁ45,000 – ÂŁ55,000 per annum (dependent on experience) with 25 days holiday and the option to purchase an additional 10 days of holiday, health cash plan, 5% employer pension contribution, life assurance, employee assistance programme plus a range of other benefits and wellbeing initiatives.
